Interesting Facts for Thunder Week

Here are some interesting facts about Louisville while you are hanging this weekend at Thunder or waiting in traffic…remember Be Patient.    Entertain your friends and family!

1. University of Louisville, founded in 1798, is the oldest city-supported college in the United States.  In the United States!

2. Louisville has the nation’s largest urban municipal forest – the 6,000 acre Jefferson Memorial Forest in south Louisville.

3.  Louisville's Main Street has the second largest collection of cast-iron storefronts facades, only New York City has more.

4. The Old Louisville neighborhood near downtown is the largest Victorian neighborhood in America.  Yes America.

5. And finally, Kentucky has more deer and turkey per capita than any other state.
