“The Residential Treatment Program annually serves 70 of the most abused children in Kentucky ages 5-15. The children have experienced severe emotional, physical or sexual abuse, and/or neglect.  It was established in 1980, and serves girls and boys referred from the Kentucky Cabinet for Families and Children who are wards of the state. The children have special needs which may be emotional, behavioral, medical, intellectual or developmental in nature. Children live at St. Joe’s for about a year in order to receive intensive therapy to help them be prepared to move to “forever families” – mostly foster care/adoptive homes.”  (SOURCE: http://www.sjkids.org/resident_faqs.php)

This is a GREAT opportunity for supporters of  St. Joseph Children’s Home’s Therapeutic Residential Treatment Program to stop by this adorable Gift Shop pick up a gift while continuing to support  St. Joe’s .”

Owner of Lexie’s Trading Post, Karen Crook, had this to say about the Benefit Shopping Day:
“This is a community effort true to our heart – helping children.  My husband and I started The Giggle’s Program five years ago with its mission of “ Bringing Smiles to Little Faces.”  Helping children has ALWAYS been near and dear to our hearts and we’re thrilled as business owners to be able help such deserving local charities.
