Maker's Mark Hop!
THIS Friday from 6:00pm
until 10:30pm on Frankfort Avenue
Frankfort Avenue will host the FAT Friday Trolley Hop on Friday, August 30th from
6:00pm-10:30pm. Free trolleys will run from Cannons Lane to River Road, and
many businesses will host live music, special sales and refreshments.
Special activities
planned for this Trolley Hop include:
We are celebrating our sponsor Maker's Mark with a special FAT
Friday Trolley Hop! Business will give out red wigs for hoppers to wear and
sell limited-edition Maker's Mark cigars. In addition, many will serve a new
Maker's Mark cocktail dubbed "The Avenue," and host special offers
and live music.
-> Special activities planned for the
August 30th "Maker's Mark Hop" include:
•RiverPark Marina, 1501 River Road, will
host a pre-hop happy hour from 5:00pm to 6:30pm and will carry the party
through the night with a "Boats, Bands and Bourbon" event. Recording
artist Lindsay Willinger will perform, food trucks will be on site serving
bourbon themed menus (Sweet n Savory, Lil Cheezers, Grind, Jam Pan, Johnny's
Diner Car and more), and a cash bar featuring Maker's Mark specials will be
offered during the happy hour. Guests can come by boat or car.
•The Irish Rover, 2319 Frankfort
Avenue, will host a traditional Irish music seisuin (jam session) starting
8:00pm in the bar area.
•A Reader's Corner, 2044 Frankfort
Avenue, will host book-signings by Stuart Tobin, M.D. (Rash Decisions and
Growth Experiences) and Sandy Payne (Find Your Magic), and guitarist Misha
Feigin.
•Margaret's Consignment, 2700 Frankfort
Avenue, will host singer Tanita Gaines and give out Maker's Mark plastic cups
while they last. A container of Maker's Mark Gourmet Sauce will be given to
guests who make a $25 or more purchase (supplies available while they last).
•The Comfy Cow, 2221 Frankfort
Avenue, will host live music by local musicians The La-Ti-Das, in addition to
an appearance by The Comfy Cow.
•Varanese Restaurant, 2106 Frankfort
Avenue, will host live jazz music and F.A.T. Friday drink specials.
•Spot5 Gallery, 2005 Frankfort
Avenue, will host an Instructor's Show from 6:00pm to 9:00pm that will include
work by artists Michelle Amos, Laurie Blayney, Amy Chase, Courtney Coriell,
Leslie Doyle, Jared Hulstine, Tara Knorpp, and Tami Ware.
•Gallery M, Mellwood Art
Center/1860 Mellwood Avenue, will host a reception for artist Amy Goforth from
6:00pm to 9:00pm, and debut Amy Shmamy's jewelry line. Singer/songwriter
Heather Renee will also perform in the Courtyard.
•The Wine Rack, 2632 Frankfort
Avenue, will host Bill Samuels from 6:30pm to 8:00pm and musician Tim Ragan
performing in the courtyard.
•Bourbon Barrel Foods, 1201 Story Avenue
#175,will serve Bourbon Barrel crostinis and freshly popped Bourbon Smoked
Paprika Popcorn. Guests can also tour the new GE Monogrammed theater kitchen
and see where Bluegrass Soy Sauce is produced.
•Bourbons Bistro, 2255 Frankfort
Avenue, will host local acoustic artist Joe Hanna. In addition, Bourbons Bistro
will run a special on pulled pork sandwiches and $2 domestic beers throughout
the night.
•Eyedia, design it again, 1631 North Mellwood Avenue,
will have music, beer and snacks from 5:00pm to 9:00pm. A portion of all sales
from the night will benefit Saving Sunny (who will be on hand) and for any
donation of $10 or more, you will receive a 10% off coupon that can be used for
the month of September.
•Crescent Hill Trading
Company – located behind Carmichael’s
Bookstore at 2720 Frankfort Avenue will be featuring a large display of estate
pipes (the largest selection on Frankfort Avenue), Maker’s Mark cigars,
lighters, humidors and all forms of tobacciana. Chef Finbar will be featuring
something delicious featuring Maker’s Mark.
• Lexie's Trading Post, 2224 Frankfort Avenue,
will launch a new Bourbon product line for Lexie's of Louisville Family Skin
Care consisting of Bourbon Brown Sugar Scrub, Bourbon Soap and a Bourbon Shea
Butter Lotion. Also serving Maker's Mark Coffee, and hosting on the
sidewalk our Annual an "End of Summer Sale."
